posing for norman rockwell

Well, we had another lame attempt at a family picture - the result........a very Norman Rockwell-esque picture. I took this to practice the self-timer on the camera and I thought it looked so much like something you would see painted by Norman Rockwell. We never did get a decent one. We may have to break down and go to a professional one of these days. Darn, I hate being a cheap-skate.

Emily,

I can attempt to take a picture for you. Maybe this weekend if you want. Let me know, I can bring my camera!

Emily, i'm a bit of a photo snob and I really like the feel of the one on the blog. It has a disarmingly intimate quality and is an honest glimpse into this family event without feeling contrived or exposed. It seems to say to me to "remember that this picture isn't the big idea, the loved ones in it are the big idea." It reminds me to slow down, take a deep breath, and realize how blessed my life is.

Emily,

Three words: Sears Portrait Studio.

It would have even been more comical had the baby been screaming, and Lily picking her nose, but you have probably taught her better.

just fine a "semi" professional photographer. Someone who has a good camera and won't charge a ton. although, i think it doesn't have to be perfect to get the point across. lily's getting so cute!!

I thought you might enjoy this story that we did on a Florida woman whose family served as models for Normal Rockwell.

Enjoy!
